Weekend Fun!

Things happening this weekend in the natural state:

At the Historic Washington State park make sure to stop by the candle shop to learn about candle making. My family has made an old time candle before and I have to say it did glow a lot brighter than candles of today. So take my word on it that you may be surprised what a candle was made out of back then. Go here to see the details and information.

This is an awesome idea, although it does cost, is in my mind well worth it. Head to Bull Shoals Powerhouse and Dams to learn about the largest concrete dam in the United States. Take a tour to see how it makes hydropower and the roles it plays in many other things. Children have to be 7 years old and above. Go here to see details and information.

A traveling exhibition of art work. These artist are from the American experience of the 19th century. Their works include watercolors and drawings. These images demonstrate how American artists sought a visual language for the depiction of daily life while the nation discovered and defined itself from 1825 to 1900. Go here to see more details.

Good at photography? Well the Mena Art Gallery is having a judged art show this weekend. Go here for more details.

These are just a few great things happening this weekend. Don't forget to stop by www.arkansas.com where you can search by cities closet to you for more great ideas.

Have a safe, fun weekend y'all!

Do you have any great things happening in your area you'd like to share?
